About us

Widespace is a privately owned entrepreneurial company with its head office in Stockholm. We have 220 employees in 10 countries and we are still expanding. With an average age of 32, we are a young company with many nationalities, who all have expertise in mobile advertising from backend to sales responsibilities. It is important for us to have fun at work, because that contributes to our successes. We are certain of that.

Expansion

We are a young company that is constantly looking forward. We are in an expansive phase and are currently in nine countries in Europe and have a development centre in Bangladesh.

Management Team

Patrik Fagerlund

Founder & Chief Executive Officer: As a founder of Widespace, he has successfully led the company from inception to its current success. Before joining Widespace, he spent 11 years in sales and business development with Ericsson in Sweden, Hong Kong and US. In his last assignment with Ericsson, Patrik was instrumental in launching IPX, an in-house funded start up, and successfully growing revenues to $80 million. He holds a Masters of Science from Chalmers University of Technology.

Henric Ehrenblad

Founder & Chairman: Prior to co-founding Widespace in 2007, he spent 13 years at Ericsson in numerous roles across the world. Most recently, he was a Director of Business Development for price management across the corporation. Earlier, he was director business development for CDMA systems in San Diego, California and the Director of Operational Development in Beijing, China before that. Henric holds a business degree in International Trade with a minor in Chinese (Mandarin).

Jonas Jeppsson

Chief Legal Officer: joined in 2013 and has previously worked as a General Counsel in different industries. Prior to this, he was a qualified lawyer. He has worked for Sweden’s three largest lawfirms: Vinge, Mannheimer Swartling and Linklaters. He holds a LLM in civil law from the University of Lund and a LLM in International Comparative Law/Common Law from McGill University, Quebec, Canada. Parallel to his legal studies, Jonas studied Business Administration and has a background in Natural & Computer Science.

Daniel Ljungh

Chief Strategy Officer: prior to joining Widespace in 2013, he held various positions in media and management consulting, including CEO of Eurosport Nordics, Sales Manager at Modern Times Group, and consultant at A.T. Kearney. Daniel holds a Masters of Science in Management from the London School of Economics and HEC.

Suzanne Nygren

Chief People Officer: joined in 2014 and is responsible for developing the HR function and support expansion. She has more than 10 years management experience from HR and digital media. She has worked as VP HR in the Nordic start-up part of HBO Inc and held various roles at MTG, Boxer TV-Access and more. She has a BSc in Business Administration and Economics from Stockholm University and a diploma in ”Extensive Diploma course in modern Boardroom” from Stockholm Chamber of Commerce.

Magnus Wiklander

Chief Financial Officer: before joining in 2012, he spent 13 years starting and developing companies in the internet and technology sphere. He founded and served as CEO of Plasticsgrid, a B2B initiative in raw material business, and IQMS Europe, a provider of manufacturing and ERP software. At IQMS, he established and built the firm’s European operations and a customer base in 13 countries. He has a Bachelor of science from Chalmers University of Technology and a Masters from Imperial College London.

Toni Kaski

Chief Sales Officer: responsible for global sales. Toni has eleven years of experience from media and sales. Before Widespace he served as Digital Sales Executive at Schibsted Sweden, responsible for their largest accounts in Sweden. He previously worked as Country manager at Universum for two years, after which he left for its South African sister organisation to build - and head up - their sales department. He studied Industrial Engineering & Business Management at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and International Business at Helsinki University of Technology.

Ilkka Lassila

Chief Technology Officer: brings more than 15 years experience in technology innovation and startup leadership. Prior to Widespace, he led and founded multiple technology ventures in versatile roles combining technology and new business models, including CTO position within Mobile Advertising Solution MAS Ltd. He has a substantial entrepreneurial background and wide perspective on growth company management and studied computer science and economics at University of Helsinki.

Christophe Joyau

Chief Partnerships Officer: Christophe oversees and develops relationships with Widespace’s publisher partners. Before joining Widespace, he gained over 12 years of experience in the mobile industry, music services, entertainment, gaming, and location-based services. Christophe worked at Nokia, where he led a team responsible for attracting developers and media houses to Nokia platforms in Northern Europe. He holds a Masters in International Business from ESSEC Business School.

Adrian McDonald

Chief Product Officer: before joining Widespace in 2013, he gained over 15 years of experience in Digital and TV advertising in Europe and Australia. He served as a General Manager at Microsoft, where he launched the Microsoft Advertising Exchange in Western Europe. While at Microsoft, Adrian also held positions as Western European Sales Lead, Denmark Sales Director, and UK Group Sales Manager. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Business from the University of Western Sydney.

Bengt Holmqvist

Bengt is an engineer and economist with experience as project manager, CEO, CFO and board member and has worked with business development, financial analysis and corporate finance in many sectors including construction and real estate, IT, telecom and finance.

Johan Englund

Johan is investment Manager at Industrifonden. He has 20+ years of experience as an entrepreneur and from building and developing ideas and organisations in the ICT/TIME sectors.

Pär-Jörgen Pärson

Pär-Jörgen is Partner at Northzone Ventures. His background is in management consulting for McKinsey & Co. He thereafter founded Cell Ventures, which was sold to a UK publicly listed company.

Ulf Sandberg

Ulf is the founder of the media agency Sandberg Media, that quickly became the market leader in Sweden under the name Starcom and later divested to Publicis Group at the Euronext Paris.
